NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED 2025-01 ORDINANCE FOR WIND ENERGY SYSTEMS LICENSING AND 2025-02 ORDINANCE FOR SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS LICENSING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing shall be held on August 26, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Kewaskum Community Center, located at 9019 Kettle Moraine Drive, Kewaskum WI, regarding the proposed ordinances for Wind Energy Systems Licensing and Solar Energy Systems Licensing. Any person may comment on the proposal during the hearing and may submit written comments before, at, or within 20 days following the hearing. All comments shall be considered by the Town Board. This notice is provided as required under Wis. Stats. §60.80.

Summary of 2025-01 Ordinance for Wind Energy Systems- Licensing will require the owner of a proposed Wind Energy System to be located in the Town of Kewaskum to obtain a license from the Town prior to beginning construction activities in order to protect public health and safety, to minimize or prevent potential adverse off-site impacts from on-site and off-site operations, and to promote the general welfare of the people and communities within the Town of Kewaskum.

Summary of 2025-02 Ordinance for Solar Energy Systems: Licensing will provide for the Town review of proposed Solar Energy Systems and to ensure such systems are properly installed and are sited in a manner that will minimize any adverse impacts without significantly increasing the cost or efficiency of the proposed system or which permits an alternate system of comparable cost or efficiency.
